Sesame Ribbon Crisp

When i was making the Crispy Crackers for Yee Sang, i decided to make this Sesame Ribbon Crisp as it is the same recipe only it is formed into ribbons. These ribbons do not need any introduction, one bit into one and before you can chew on it, your hand will be reaching out for another. That's how good they are.

Lily, I love your blog and constantly refer to your recipes!
But I have tried this sesame crisp unsuccessfully - didn't turn out crispy. Do you know what went wrong? And can I still salvage them by baking in oven? Given that CNY is just a few days away.....!

absolutely , put the fried crisps in a 300f oven and bake until crisp.

Great, thanks for that. So do you know what I need to correct the next time I try to do it again - could it be the oil not hot enough?
And Gong Xi Fa Cai!!

yes, deep frying needs alot of oil to achieve crispy results. Invest in a deep fried thermometer and start frying at 350 f. too high, the crisps will burned before it can be cooked through
